It is with great regret that our Hospice2Hospice Bike Ride on Sunday 21st September has been cancelled.

Sadly, due to lack of participants we’ve had to make this very difficult decision and we apologise for the inconvenience caused to everyone who has already committed to supporting the event.

Since launching the Hospice2Hospice Bike Ride in 2012 the event has attracted over 650 riders and raised an impressive £120,000 for Shooting Star Chase. But in an increasingly competitive market and with the recent saturation of similar events in our area, the number of signups to date means this year’s event is no longer financially viable.

Ultimately the aim of the bike ride is to raise money for our care service and so, in this situation, we feel it is in the best interests of the charity to cancel the event.

We will be contacting every rider personally to express our regret and of course, offer a full refund.

We will now concentrate on refreshing our challenge events programme and look forward to embarking on new and exciting events that will bring in vital funds.

We want to ensure our supporters know that this decision was not taken lightly and we hope that you will continue to support future challenge events, helping us to make a difference to the families who need the vital lifeline of our hospice service.
