Nutters raise over £21,000 for Shooting Star CHASE!

Twenty teams of Shooting Star CHASE corporate partners braved deep mud and minus temperatures and in the process raised a fantastic £21,500 for Shooting Star CHASE.

91 participants made up the teams from Mimecast, Thomas Mansfield LLP, Pelican, ITC Concepts, Verint, Fourfront, Random House, Haymarket and UPS, who all braved The Nuts Challenge ‘the hardest assault course in the UK’.

Covered from head to toe with mud, all the contestants showed their true commitment to the charity surviving the gruelling 7km assault course. In a truly chilling 4 degrees contestants were frozen to the bone as after the mud was over they had to walk through a lake, submerged up to their shoulders.

Congratulations to the team from Fourfront Group, who were the quickest team to complete the course in just 1 hour and 25 minutes.

Despite the freezing conditions, all the competitors enjoyed their muddy adventure.

Their comments included:

“Thanks for all your support as well. Those final words of encouragement at the bridge helped me drag my behind over the line”

“Great day, great fun, great big bruises!”

“Guys just to say what a laugh that was Saturday! Truly EPIC ACHIEVEMENT!!!”

Alex Rennie, Head of Corporate & Trusts Fundraising, along with staff from the Corporate team, were at the event cheering on our participants.  She said “A big THANK YOU to our corporate partners who took part in the Nuts Challenge this weekend.

"They kept smiling despite the freezing cold conditions and tough obstacles they faced. It was fantastic to see them working as a team and encouraging each other over, under, and along the demanding course. We feel very lucky to have such fantastic supporters that literally do go that extra mile to help local families.”
