The Hanworth Classic event, held in Bushy Park, has been a supporter of Shooting Star Chase for 10 years – each year raising even more money to help make every moment count for the families supported by us.Hanworth Classic Car Show

The first event back in 2005, originally started at the Hanworth Carnival, and had just 7 cars on show (2 of which belonged to the organiser!) Now, 13 years on, the event welcomes over 500 vehicles, including classic cars, motorbikes, military vehicles and bicycles covering all eras from the early 1900s to the present day!

For those less partial to automobiles there was plenty to see and do with Shooting Star Chase stalls holding raffles with wonderful donated prizes on offer, cake stalls offering a wealth of sweet treats and even a vintage pop up shop full of fundraising fashion which raised an amazing £2,618 alone!

The classic vintage theme continued with Kingston’s Swing Jive Club Everything’s Jumpin’ conducting dance displays and encouraging all to join in on their special dance floor (with a mini one for the little jivers!) playing 1940s and 50s Jive, Swing and Rock n Roll music.Hanworth Classic Car Show

Although some residents decided to take shelter in the shade, most of the visitors made the most of the sunshine at the event which is well on track to have raised nearly £17,000 and counting!

Jane De Lay, Head of Community Engagement said, “We really had such a wonderful day and it’s so lovely to see how much the event has grown year on year – as has the amazing support from the organisers and visitors alike! The money raised will make such a huge difference to children with life-limiting conditions, and their families who are going through the most unimaginable of circumstances and we can’t thank all those involved enough!”
