Fire Walk

Take part in an event like no other, by walking over hot coals, with temperatures of up to 1200°F. Put your bravery and courage to the test by taking on this ultimate, adrenaline fuelled challenge.

Since the first Fire Walk, Shooting Star Chase has seen over 245 fearless folk raise a scorching £70,000! With your bravery, courage and determination we are hoping to raise £30,000 from this exhilarating event. In order to do this we hope that each of you will commit to raising a minimum of £150.

Learn the secret of firewalking in a safe environment, whilst raising money for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions.

The event is open for ages 18+ and even if it wasn’t on your bucket list, it should be now!

We highly recommend this event for local groups and work parties – take the first step onto searing hot coals and get cheered along by your team.

To kick start your fundraising, please take a moment to read our fantastic fundraising guide, which is packed with lots of useful tips and advice. Registration
Registration will open at 5.00pm. Please ensure you do not arrive for registration any later than 5.45pm, as the training seminar will begin promptly at 6.00pm. You will need to register at the Shooting Star Chase gazebo which will be clearly signed. Here you will be registered by one of our lovely volunteers and given your participant sticker. You must wear your participant sticker on your t-shirt at all times during the event.

What to wear and bring
There is no special clothing required to do a fire walk, but we do ask you to wear your Shooting Star Chase t-shirt which is included in your fundraising pack which will be posted to you. Casual comfortable clothing and trousers that can be easily rolled up are recommended. Fires can be quite dirty and your clothes may become ash stained. Footwear needs to be easy to remove and will need to be put back on after the fire walk, so we advise you to bring wet wipes and/or an old hand towel to clean your feet after the fire walk.

Toilet facilities
Portable toilets will be onsite at Loseley Park.

How to prepare for the Fire Walk
Other than the compulsory 1 hour training seminar, there is no preparation to undertake. However it is extremely important that you abstain from the consumption of alcohol prior to the event. Anyone who is, in the opinion of the trainer, unfit to participate will not be permitted to take part in the fire walk.

On the day training
On the evening of the event you will receive a pre fire walk training seminar, presented by Cliff Mann. The seminar will cover topics such as; the history of fire walking, techniques for walking on fire and tips for understanding and overcoming fear.

Photographers
Shooting Star Chase will be taking photographs throughout the event, so don’t forget to smile for the camera! You and any spectators are of course welcome to take photographs throughout the evening. Should you wish to share your photos with us, please send them to events@shootingstarchase.org.uk

Refreshments
Hot food and drinks are available at the Fire Walk. Refreshments will be provided by Caper and Berry. Please note it is advisable to bring cash with you to purchase refreshments, as there may not be card facilities available.

Spectators
The fire walk is set to be a great event and will be a thrilling and exciting evening for spectators and participants alike. We would love to welcome your friends and family to the event to watch and support you as you take on this amazing challenge. Spectators should remember to wrap up as they won’t have the fire to keep them warm!
