If you are doing a Duke of Edinburgh Award or considering a medical, retail or fashion career and are over the age of 16, why not apply to be one of our young volunteers?

At our shops – if you can spot a designer label, have a feel for fashion and can make our customers feel welcome, there is bound to be a role for you.

At our hospices – due to their many complex needs, you will not be working directly with the children in our care but you can still play an important role helping in the kitchen.

Young Volunteering Scheme

The Summer Young Volunteering scheme runs from July to September  and the Autumn Young Volunteering scheme runs from November  to January.   (Applications for the Autumn 2016 scheme are now closed.)  Although you will not be working directly with the children in our care, you will gain an insight into our service and many young people who are interested in entering the healthcare professions find the experience helpful, to include when completing their UCAS forms and of benefit at the interview stage.

Applications for the Autumn 2016 scheme are now closed. Applications for the Summer Scheme will open on Monday, 4 February 2017  and close on Sunday 30 April. Interviews and Inductions will take place at Shooting Star House and Christopher’s in May and June – dates to be advised shortly.  Please note you must be able to attend the interview and induction, we are unfortunately unable to organise individual dates and times to suit your availability.

Volunteering opportunities at the hospices are available at the following times:

Christopher’s, Guildford (six places available)
Thursday, Friday or Saturday evenings 4.00pm to 6.00pm (alternate weeks)
