61 splendid Santa’s donned their suits (and beards!) on Saturday 2 December and took to the trees to complete Shooting Star Chase’s latest challenge – Santa Skywalk to help raise vital funds for sick children and their families.
The event which took place at Skywalk Adventure in Esher asked our brave participants to complete the obstacle course with a difference! Our Santa’s had to scale cargo nets, traverse swinging logs and rickety bridge’s as well as zipping through the trees on a zip wire to complete the course and receive their Christmas stocking treat!
With all ages joining in – an astounding £9,000 has been raised so far which will go toward helping make every moment count for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families.
Emma Edwards, Head of Challenge Events at Shooting Star Chase said;
“We were so excited to hold our first ever Santa Skywalk and couldn’t wait to see all our wonderful participants in their festive outfits zipping through the trees! It was great to watch family and friends coming together to help raise money at a time of year when family is so very important!
We are so grateful to all our participants for taking part and to Skywalk Adventure for letting us hold this event. In this current financial climate it’s becoming increasingly challenging to raise funds in order to continue to provide our service, so to hear we’ve raised £9,000 and counting is just so amazing and will really help Shooting Star Chase care for families in London and Surrey.”
