We have a dedicated area at each hospice where a child can lay at rest until the day of their funeral, allowing their family to say goodbye in a familiar and supportive environment.

Care does not stop after a child has died. We will continue to provide practical and emotional support for the entire family for as long as they need.

Grief is very individual and every bereaved parent will experience a range of thoughts and feelings at different times.  That’s why we offer both individual and couple counselling as well as bereavement groups to support parents and other family members in finding a way forwards.

The family’s care team member will make regular contact with the bereaved family, offering both telephone support and face to face contact in accordance with their wishes.

If a family member requires more regular in depth support then a member of the counselling team can provide time and space to talk about and explore difficult feelings when anticipating the loss and through bereavement.

All family members are eligible for this support and counselling, including siblings, parents and grandparents.

We also provide group support following bereavement for siblings, parents and grandparents as well as an annual remembering day.
