How to get there

We recommend you travel to Broadgate Tower by public transport, as this is a few minutes walk from Liverpool Street Train and Underground Station. There is no parking facility at Broadgate Tower.

When leaving Liverpool Street Station, head for The Broadgate Link Exit (likely to be signed posted Exchange Square). You will see Boots on the corner of The Broadgate Concourse and The Broadgate Link shopping area. Turn right at Boots and head along The Broadgate Link.

Follow this walkway towards Exchange Square and head across the concourse underneath Exchange House. You will then see The Broadgate Plaza, The Broadgate Tower is located straight in front of you. Shooting Star Chase arrows and sail flags will be up as you get closer to The Broadgate Tower.

Upon arrival
When you arrive at Broadgate Tower please head inside, head up the escalator to the 1st floor and follow the signs to the registration area. (Note: Toilet facilities are situated behind this desk).

Registering
We will ask you to complete a registration form and make payment, we accept cash and cheques. From here we will hand you your running number, chip timing band and give you the option to leave your bag safely with the Shooting Star Chase team. Registration will be opening from 9:40am.
Please wait in the registration area and listen out for your time slot to be called out by a member of the Shooting Star Chase team. From here, you will be taken to the warm up area.

Warm up
Paul Quick, professional personal trainer, will be facilitating our warm ups across the morning. Our warm ups will last 5-10 minutes. After your warm up, you will make your way to the back of the tower; here you will be briefed by Matt Hudson from Total Motion Events. Paul and Matt will be available throughout the morning to make sure you are prepared for the Tower Run.

Starting order
Within each wave, runners will be set off first, followed by joggers, then walkers. Matt will also group people together, please ensure that you stand with your family, friends or colleagues if you wish to climb the tower together.

On the stairwell
If at any point you feel you need a rest, please step to the side of the stairwell to allow other participants to safely pass. Remember, go at the pace you feel comfortable with, stop and rest for as many times you need. If you feel at any point that you cannot complete the climb, make your way slowly up to the next exit in the stairwell, take the lift down to the 1st floor and follow the signs to the celebration room.

On completion
When you have completed your Tower Run, you will receive a medal, a bottle of water and a Mars Bar to get those sugar levels up! Our photographer will be based at the top of the tower so remember to smile! Weather permitting we will also allow you to head out onto the roof top so you can take in the amazing views across London so don’t forget your cameras! A lift will be provided to escort participants to the celebration room on the 1st floor of the tower.

Bubbles, nibbles and water
A glass of bubbles and a bite to eat will be available for all participants in the celebration room.
Bottled water will be available before and after the Tower Run. Stairwell marshals will also have spare water should this be required but please ensure you are fully hydrated before you embark on the Tower Run. The marshals will be located on the 10th, 20th and 30th floors.

Spectators
Friends and family are welcome to come along and support you during the event – they will be able to meet you on the 1st floor for the celebratory reception after the Tower Run, where you can show off your medal and celebrate your success! Please advise any family and friends that they will not be able to purchase any refreshments in the celebration room, however, they are welcome to relax on the bean bags, have a complimentary bottle of water, peruse the Shooting Star Chase merchandise and find out about our future challenge events while they wait for you.

Remember
We’re here to help you every step of the way (no pun intended!) with your fundraising!
With your bravery, courage and determination we are hoping to raise £35,000 from this exhilarating event. In order to do this we hope that participants will commit to raising a minimum of £150.
To do this we recommend that you set up a Just Giving or Virgin Money Giving page and encourage all your friends and family members to support you on your challenge.

We can’t wait to see you on the day, but in the meantime, if you have any questions please contact us at events@shootingstarchase.org.uk or call us on 01932 823115

Help us by fundraising to make every moment count for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families.

With your bravery, courage and determination we are hoping to raise £35,000 from this exhilarating event. In order to do this we hope that participants will commit to raising a minimum of £150.

£150 could help pay for one of our monthly teenage youth groups. Most of the teenagers we support are unable to access mainstream groups so our youth group enables them to spend time with peers and do things they enjoy, whatever their condition or ability. Many of the group’s activities focus on promoting independence and enjoying new experiences that otherwise may not be possible.

To kick start your fundraising, please take a moment to read Professor Popplepants’ guide to fundraising, which is packed with lots of useful tips and advice. We also recommend that you set up a JustGiving page, if you haven’t already done so. Here you can add photos, videos and a personal story as to why you are taking on this challenge.
